Ronald Pierik

Prof. Ronald Pierik is a Full Professor at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Wageningen University & Research. His research focuses on plant molecular biology, particularly photomorphogenesis, shade avoidance syndrome, and light signaling mechanisms. He leads projects investigating how plants adapt to environmental light conditions through phytochrome signaling and hormonal pathways.

Key research areas include plant developmental plasticity under far-red light, interactions between light quality and plant defense mechanisms, and the molecular regulation of root-shoot communication.
