Ronald McGarvey serves as Associate Professor in the Department DISC at the University of Missouri (September 2019–present), with concurrent appointments as Visiting Professor at ISAE-SUPAERO (August 2021–present) and Adjunct Researcher at RAND Corporation (August 2013–present).
His research centers on Industrial Engineering with specialized expertise in:
- Operations Research methodologies
- Mathematical optimization techniques
- Decision science frameworks
- Machine learning applications
- Systems engineering principles
- Computational decision support systems
He leads the Learning, Decision, Optimization (DISC) research group, advancing interdisciplinary approaches to complex decision-making problems. Prior to his current associate professorship, he held an assistant professor position at the University of Missouri (2013–2019) following eleven years as Senior Operations Researcher at RAND Corporation (2002–2013), where he continues as Adjunct Researcher.
