Ronald L.A.W. Bleys

Ronald L.A.W. Bleys is a Full Professor of Clinical Anatomy at Utrecht University, affiliated with the University Medical Center Utrecht. He has served as head of the Department of Anatomy since 2000 and has been a faculty member since 1987.

His educational background includes an MD (1986) and a PhD (1995) from Utrecht University, with research conducted at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London. Bleys is registered as a medical morphological investigator by the Foundation for Biomedical Scientific Research Training (SMBWO).

Ronald Bleys' research focuses on the interplay between the vascular system and autonomic nervous system, particularly the autonomic regulation of inflammatory responses. His work spans clinical anatomy, neurovascular interactions, and developmental biology, with recent publications on eyelid/orbital embryology and facial muscle spatial analysis.
