معرفی
Ronald Gilman is a Distinguished Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He holds additional roles as Associate Chair and is affiliated with the Experimental Nuclear Physics group. His primary research focuses on nucleon structure, the proton radius puzzle, and intermediate energy nuclear physics, leveraging experiments at facilities like Jefferson Lab (JLab) and Fermilab.
Research Interests: Gilman’s work centers on probing proton structure through muonic hydrogen measurements, addressing the proton radius puzzle, and investigating QCD dynamics. Collaborations include global teams studying muon-proton scattering (MUSE experiment) and Drell-Yan processes. He co-organized a Proton Radius Puzzle Workshop in Trento, Italy, and led efforts to review the puzzle’s status.
Awards & Recognition:
- Fellow of AAAS (2018)
- Rutgers 2018 Career Mentor of the Year
Advising & Grants: Gilman mentors students and collaborates internationally on projects funded by U.S. DOE and international partnerships. His experimental leadership includes initiatives at JLab and Fermilab, focusing on spin physics and neutrino studies.
Labs & Teams: Active in global collaborations, including with Prof. Ron Ransome, PSI (Switzerland), and institutions in Washington, Warsaw, and Munich. Research outputs are documented in hundreds of peer-reviewed publications.
