Ronald E. See is a Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Westmont College. He previously held faculty positions at Washington State University, Kuwait University, the Medical University of South Carolina, and the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia. His office is located in Winter Hall 338, with availability on Wednesdays 8:30am–10:30am, Thursdays 2:00pm–4:00pm, and by appointment.
Dr. See holds a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MA and PhD in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His career spans four decades of teaching, mentoring, and neuroscience research.
His research interests focus on behavioral neuroscience and psychopharmacology, including drug addiction mechanisms, antipsychotic drug effects, experimental models of relapse to drug abuse, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for depression. He has published over 160 peer-reviewed articles and reviews, and his work has been supported by numerous research grants.
Dr. See has received prestigious awards such as the Fellow of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology, National Institute on Drug Abuse International Scientist, Lady Davis Fellow, and Fulbright Scholar Fellowship. These honors reflect his contributions to neuropsychopharmacology and addiction research.
In advising and grants, he has mentored hundreds of students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty across institutions. His grants highlight sustained support for his research programs. Beyond academia, he actively engages in wilderness hiking in California and Montana.
