Ronald David Myers

Ronald David Myers is an Instructor at the University of Maryland's Institute of Applied Agriculture, part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He serves as Principal Agent for Anne Arundel and Prince George's Counties through the University of Maryland Extension. His roles include advising on field crops, livestock, and specialty agriculture with a focus on fruit/vegetable production and marketing.

Education: BS in Agronomy/Crop Science (University of Maryland, 1983) and MS in Agronomy/Weed Science (University of Maryland, 1996). Prior to joining UMD Extension in 1997, he worked as an agronomist at the U.S. Naval Academy Dairy Farm from 1980-1997.

Research: Conducts fruit/vegetable trials at the Upper Marlboro Research & Education Center, emphasizing agronomic practices like no-tillage systems and pest management. Expertise spans crop production systems, pesticide safety, and sustainable agricultural technologies.

Key responsibilities include extending applied agricultural knowledge to county farmers through workshops, field days, and technical consultations.
