Ronald Cohen

Ronald Cohen is a Professor of Earth and Planetary Science & Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses on atmospheric chemical processes involving nitrogen oxides, ozone, and particulate matter, integrating satellite observations, field measurements, and laboratory experiments.

• Developed the BErkeley Atmospheric CO2 Observation Network
• Created the BEACON project for urban greenhouse gas mapping

Research Highlights: Combines atmospheric chemistry with climate science to study:
- Nitrogen oxide cycles in urban and rural environments
- Ozone formation dynamics
- Water isotope records in polar ice
