Ronak Janani

Dr Ronak Janani is a Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University, affiliated with the College of Business, Technology and Engineering. He holds a PhD in sol-gel chemistry and energy storage (2019) from the same institution. His research focuses on biomaterials, sol-gel chemistry applications in healthcare, and gas sensing technologies for industrial emissions. He contributes to projects like HiT OFCs (gas-Raman instrumentation) and EnviroAsh, addressing challenges in UK Foundation Industries.

• Education: PhD in Materials Science (2019), BEng in Engineering

Research interests include bioactive glass ceramics for bone regeneration, smart biomaterials for spinal therapies (via iPSpine consortium), and environmental monitoring via Raman spectroscopy. He leads consultancy projects through the Sheffield Innovation Programme and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams across Materials and Engineering Research Institute and Industry and Innovation Research Institute.
