Ron Maas

Ron Maas is a Lecturer at the UWA Business School's Management and Organisations department. He holds a PhD in Business Strategy from the Rotterdam School of Management, along with dual bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Economics/ Business Economics from Utrecht University, and master's degrees in Strategic Management and Research from Rotterdam School of Management. His research focuses on organizational strategy influenced by external non-market environments, including cross-cultural strategic decisions and long-term impacts of founding conditions.

Research interests include institutional theory, international business dynamics, organizational imprinting, and strategic decision-making under varying environmental conditions. His work has been published in the Journal of Management Studies and presented at major conferences like the Academy of Management and Strategic Management Society.

Ron currently teaches Management Strategy and Introduction to Global Business. He participates in the ARC-funded FRIASA project focused on fire-resilient infrastructure. His research has explored M&A success factors, imprinting effects on firm behavior, and cross-border expansion strategies for emerging market firms.
