Romulo Lollato, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Agronomy at Kansas State University (K-State), with an 80% Extension and 20% applied research appointment. He serves as Extension Wheat and Forages Specialist, leading an interdisciplinary team focused on wheat production and physiology. His roles include Associate Editor for the Agronomy Journal and reviewer for multiple scientific journals. Dr. Lollato holds a B.S. from Londrina State University (Brazil), M.S. and Ph.D. in Plant and Soil Sciences from Oklahoma State University.
His research interests include wheat production systems, soil management (liming, pH, aluminum), meteorological constraints to crop yield, and soil-water dynamics. He oversees over 20 research projects, primarily guiding M.S. and Ph.D. students. Awards include the 2018 Outstanding Associated Editor Award from the Agronomy Journal.
Professional memberships include the American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America. His advisory role emphasizes bridging academic research with practical farming solutions, rooted in his upbringing on a family farm in Brazil.
