Roman Gryń

Roman Gryń is a Professor at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and a full professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań, serving as Head of the Department of Wind Instruments and Accordion since 2002. An internationally active trumpet performer, he has collaborated with major European orchestras and ensembles across four continents.

His academic background includes:

• Graduate of Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw (1983), Instrumental Department specializing in trumpet
• Advanced studies with Tiemofiej Dokshicer and Edward Tar in Bayreuth

Professor Gryń's artistic research centers on brass performance techniques and historical repertoire interpretation. His work spans solo, orchestral, and chamber contexts with emphasis on Polish Baroque music and transatlantic collaborations, notably through the Poznań Brass Quintet and Tutti e Solo ensemble.

His distinguished performance career has been recognized with:

• Young Trumpeters' Competition laureateship (Pabianice, 1980)
• First prize at the Trumpet Competition (Gdańsk, 1985)

As an educator, he conducts workshops globally on orchestral interpretation and serves on competition juries while maintaining an active recording career with multiple CD releases.
