Romain Bizet

Romain Bizet is a Post-doctoral Researcher at CERNA (Centre for Industrial Economics) within MINES ParisTech. He holds a PhD from MINES ParisTech (defended in 2017) and graduated from École Polytechnique. His research focuses on the economics of risks and uncertainty, particularly safety regulation in nuclear energy. Key areas include industrial organization, game theory, and decision-making under ambiguity.

He has presented his work at leading conferences such as the European Association for Environmental and Resource Economics (EAERE) and the Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis. His publications explore topics like nuclear accident cost assessment, local monitoring effects on safety, and economic rationales for decommissioning nuclear plants. Bizet has also engaged with media on France’s nuclear industry prospects, including a debate on Public Sénat.

Teaching includes a master’s course on nuclear power economics. His research outputs include peer-reviewed articles and book chapters with Springer, as well as working papers analyzing French nuclear fleet safety and Bayesian approaches to risk assessment.
