Roland Allmägi

Roland Allmägi is a Junior Research Fellow (0.70 position) at the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Institute of Forestry and Engineering, working within the Chair of Biosystems Engineering. Born on October 20, 1994, he holds a Master's degree in Production Engineering from the same university and is currently pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Risto Ilves.

Allmägi's research focuses on mechanical engineering, particularly in engine technology, biofuels, and renewable energy systems. His work examines piston engine innovations, combustion technologies, and the impact of fuel additives on engine performance and emissions. His research contributes to sustainable transportation solutions and aligns with European renewable energy directives.

His recent publications demonstrate strong expertise in low-temperature combustion technologies, renewable fuel implementation, and ethanol utilization in engines. These works reflect a consistent focus on improving engine efficiency while reducing environmental impact through innovative fuel solutions and combustion techniques.

Allmägi serves as a supervisor for graduate students, having co-supervised Paul Artur Timmusk's Master's thesis on turbulent jet ignition. He participates in multiple research projects with significant funding, including two major projects with the Estonian Defence Forces and Ministry of Defence totaling 300,000 EUR.

His current research projects focus on developing automatic measurement systems for soil properties related to vehicle passability characteristics, continuing his work on engine performance optimization and sustainable energy solutions.
