Rolaine Hetherington

Rolaine Hetherington has been affiliated with Friends University since 1993, serving initially as an adjunct professor and transitioning to full-time professor in 2011. She teaches studio voice, directs the Concert Choir, co-directs the Chamber Choir, and co-produces music theatre and opera productions. Her professional background includes teaching at public schools and holding positions at William Penn College, North Central Bible College, and Crown College.

Education includes:

• B.A. in Piano Performance and K-12 Music Education from Hendrix College
• M.M.Ed. in Music Education and M.M. in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University

Her research focuses on vocal pedagogy, choral direction, and music theatre production. She has extensive performance experience with organizations like the North Star Opera Company, Dale Warland Singers, Bach Society of Minnesota, and Music Theatre of Wichita.

She received a Rotary International Scholarship for lieder and oratorio studies in Austria. The Concert Choir, under her direction, tours biennially and has performed at the Kansas Music Educators Association's winter conference.
