Roisin Curran is a Professor of Curriculum Design and Pedagogy at Ulster University, serving as Head of the Centre for Curriculum Enhancement & Approval within the Learning Enhancement Directorate. She has been affiliated with Ulster University since 2004, transitioning from Further Education where she began her teaching career in 1997.
- PhD from the University of Westminster (2017), focusing on student-staff partnerships
- Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
Her research centers on curriculum design, staff-student partnerships, and student engagement. She co-developed Ulster’s Integrated Curriculum Design Framework (ICDF) in 2018, emphasizing the dimensions of Knowing, Doing, and Being. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education. She has led cross-disciplinary projects under the national 'What Works? Student Retention and Success Change Programme (2013-16)'
Her recent publications analyze choice architecture in academic development, competence-based education practices, and student engagement models. She has presented keynotes on curriculum co-design and student-centered practices.
