Rohit Budhiraja

Rohit Budhiraja serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK). He specializes in Communications and Signal Processing with a focus on wireless systems design.

His research interests include applications of linear algebra, optimization methods, and information theory to cooperative wireless communications, multiuser MIMO communication systems, multi-hop and multi-cell wireless networks, and Cloud-RAN and energy-efficient wireless systems. He also investigates PHY and cross-layer algorithms for 4G/5G wireless systems, with particular interest in building wireless systems to study realistic performance of state-of-the-art relaying algorithms and cross-layer design between digital baseband and analog RF for full-duplex and mm-wave wireless systems.

Dr. Budhiraja's research output demonstrates significant contributions to MIMO relaying techniques, particularly in two-way communication systems. His publications focus on transceiver design, quality of service guarantees, and optimization approaches for wireless networks.

He maintains active professional affiliations as a member of IEEE and leads the Signal Processing, Communications & Networks research group at IIT Kanpur.
