Rohit Aggarwal is a Professor and David Eccles Emerging Scholar in the Department of Operations and Information Systems at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He holds a BE in Chemical Engineering from Panjab University, an MBA in Marketing from MDI Gurgaon, and a PhD in Operations and Management Information Systems from the University of Connecticut. His research focuses on AI-augmented decision-making in organizations, emphasizing human-AI collaboration and transparency. He has advised three PhD students who now hold academic positions at leading universities.
His research explores two main themes: (1) enhancing human productivity via AI tools while mitigating over-reliance risks, and (2) embedding human expertise into AI systems for robust decision-making. He has contributed to initiatives like ReadRelevant.ai, MAdAiLab.com, and MentorStudents.org. Notable awards include the University of Utah’s Emerging Scholar Award (2008) and a Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship (2008).
