Rohit Sangal, MD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and Associate Medical Director of the Adult Emergency Department at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He specializes in clinical operations, quality improvement, and leveraging technology to enhance emergency care delivery. His research focuses on optimizing emergency department workflows, reducing disparities in care access, and integrating artificial intelligence into clinical decision-making.
Dr. Sangal earned his MD from Brown University and MBA from Yale School of Management. He completed residency at the University of Pennsylvania and an emergency medicine administration fellowship at Yale. His work includes projects on clinical decision support systems, ED observation care protocols, and system alert management to reduce clinician burden.
He co-leads initiatives such as the Care Signature program unifying care across nine emergency departments. His publications address opioid prescribing reduction, open note disparities, and AI-driven triage systems. Collaborators include Arjun Venkatesh, Andrew Ulrich, and Craig Rothenberg.
