معرفی
Roger Lippé is a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal, with a secondary accreditation in the Department of Microbiology, Infectious Diseases and Immunology. His research focuses on host-pathogen interactions with HSV-1 and coronaviruses, particularly in intracellular transport, proteomics, and flow virometry. He joined the research center at CHU Sainte-Justine in 2019.
Education:
- B.Sc. in Microbiology (1986), University of Montreal
- M.Sc. in Microbiology/Virology (1989), McMaster University
- Ph.D. in Cellular Biology/Immunology (1995), University of British Columbia
- Post-doctoral training (2000), European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Germany
Research interests center on elucidating molecular mechanisms of HSV-1 and coronavirus egress, proteomic characterization of viral particles, and molecular links between HSV-1 and Alzheimer's disease. His work integrates cell biology, virology, and innovative technologies like flow virometry and in vitro assays.
Scientific awards and grants include continuous funding from CIHR, NSERC, FRQNT, Canada National Research Council, and private funding from Glycovax Pharma. He has also received grants from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal.
Research trends over time show a shift from studying adenovirus and MHC class I antigen presentation to HSV-1 intracellular transport, proteomics, and coronavirus research. Recent work emphasizes host proteins in virions and their therapeutic targeting.
He leads a laboratory at Centre de recherche Azrieli du CHU Sainte-Justine, where he employs interdisciplinary approaches to investigate viral replication and host interactions, aiming to identify novel therapeutic targets for herpesviruses and coronaviruses.
