Roel BRAEKERS

Prof. dr. Roel BRAEKERS is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Hasselt University. He leads the Research Group Center for Statistics and is part of the Data Science Institute. He chairs the Examination Committee for the Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. His research focuses on statistical methodologies, including probability theory, econometric methods, biostatistics, and computational statistics, with applications in survival analysis, copula models, and big data theory.

Education Roles: Coordinates key courses such as Concepts of Probability and Statistics, Policy Statistics, and Stochastic Processes. Co-leads programs like the International School and Automation and Quality Techniques.
