Rodrigo Jara is an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) at the National Centre for Genomic Analysis (CNAG-CRG) in Barcelona, Spain, where he is a member of the Structural Genomics group led by Marc Marti-Renom within the ChromDesign network. His work focuses on developing computational frameworks to integrate diverse experimental data for 3D genome modeling.
He holds a Genetics degree from the National University of Misiones (UNaM) in Argentina, where his final project under Dr. Cristian Ferri investigated kinase-mediated treatment resistance in chronic myeloid leukemia. Subsequently, he worked with Dr. Patricia Saragüeta at the Institute of Biology and Experimental Medicine (IBYME) in Buenos Aires, collaborating with Miguel Beato's group at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) on hormone-induced gene expression and chromatin dynamics in endometrial cells.
Rodrigo's research spans 3D Genomics, Computational Genomics, and Chromatin Structure, leveraging expertise in NGS techniques (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, Hi-C) and bioinformatic analysis. His current project aims to unify experimental data into comprehensive 3D genomic models, advancing understanding of genome architecture. His career demonstrates a trajectory from wet-lab cancer research to computational genomics, reflecting strong interdisciplinary integration of experimental and analytical approaches.
