Rodney Gehrett

Rodney Gehrett is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), where he also serves as the CJ Internship Coordinator and is affiliated with the College of Public Service. He holds dual master's degrees in Criminal Justice and Public Administration from UCCS and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Colorado State University-Pueblo.

• Rodney Gehrett is an accomplished law enforcement and military leader with over three decades of leadership experience across both career fields.
• He began his law enforcement career as a deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 and retired in 2018 after holding supervisory and managerial roles such as Training Director, Standards and Technologies Manager, Public Information Officer, Administrative Services Commander, Support Operations Commander, and Patrol Division Commander.
• In the military, he completed 36 years of service as a US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Diver and a US Army Reserve Infantry Officer and Psychological Operations Officer, earning recognition as a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
• He has undergone advanced training through the Penn State Justice and Safety Institute's Police Executive Development (POLEX) program and the FBI National Academy (273rd Session).
