Rodney A. Chimner

Rodney A. Chimner is a Professor at Michigan Technological University in the College of Forest Resources and Environmental Science. His work focuses on wetland and peatland ecosystem science, integrating ecohydrology, carbon cycling, and restoration strategies. The 15 most recent publications highlight his focus on peatland carbon stocks, hydrological restoration, and climate change impacts. His work spans Peru, Colombia, and the Great Lakes region, employing GIS, soil analysis, and plant-ecosystem interactions to advance wetland conservation science.

Dr. Chimner leads international research initiatives like the Peatland Ecology and Restoration Education program in South America, with grants from the National Science Foundation, USDA Forest Service, and the Co-operative Research Programme (OECD). His collaborations include the Ecosystem Science Center and MTU-Society of Wetland Scientists.
