Robyn Gill-Leslie is a Research Fellow in the Department of Criminology and Sociology of Law at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Bodies of Evidence (BoE) project. Her work focuses on corporeal aesthetics, truth recovery after atrocity, and intersections between law, humanities, and socio-legal approaches. She holds a PhD in Law (Transitional Justice) from King’s College London and a Master’s in International Conflict from the same institution. Prior to academia, she worked in human rights, refugee rights, and prison reform in Southern Africa for over a decade.
Her research emphasizes deconstructive, decolonial, and reflective methodologies, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Key areas include South Africa’s truth-finding mechanisms (e.g., Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Marikana Commission) and refugee rights. She has been awarded prestigious grants, including the Doctoral Innovation Award and Modern Law Review’s early career grant.
