Dr. Robin Whitburn is a Lecturer in History Education at University College London's Institute of Education (IOE), part of the Faculty of Education and Society. With a 30-year background as a secondary school teacher in North-West London, he transitioned to academia in 2010 to support future history educators. His work focuses on inclusive history education, particularly integrating Black communities' histories and decolonizing curricula. He co-founded Justice to History to advance diverse historical narratives.

His research emphasizes historical enquiries as a pedagogical approach to empower students through active investigation. Collaborations include projects with the UCL Centre for the Study of the Legacies of British Slave-ownership and the Historical Association on Transatlantic Slavery education.
