Robin Puett is a Professor and Associate Dean for Research and Faculty Affairs at the University of Maryland's School of Public Health, holding tenure in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She also serves in the Maryland Institute for Applied Environmental Health. Her research focuses on environmental exposure assessment, air pollution's impact on chronic diseases, and the role of integrative health practices in mitigating stress effects. Dr. Puett earned dual PhDs in Epidemiology and Environmental Health Sciences from the University of South Carolina, along with an MPH from Emory University.
Her work examines how environmental stressors like air pollution interact with lifestyle factors such as diet to influence cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. She employs large cohort studies and spatial analysis to explore built-environment effects on physical activity and health disparities. Notable awards include the Jerry P Wrenn Outstanding Service Award (2018) and recognition as a UMD Research Leader (2012).
