Robin Pickering is a Professor and Chair of Public Health at Gonzaga University. She specializes in women’s health, social support systems, and health behavior change. Previously, she held roles as Professor of Health Sciences and Director of Women and Gender Studies at Whitworth University. Her expertise spans community health, workplace gender equity, and strategic systems change for DEI initiatives.
Education: Ph.D. in Education (Health and Wellness, Adult Education, Psychology); MS in Physical Education (Exercise Science); BS in Health Promotion and Wellness.
Research Interests: Focuses on optimizing women’s health through evidence-based approaches, including podcasting (“A Closer Look”), authoring works like “A Modern Approach to the Birds and the Bees”, and advocating for social justice in health education. Active in consulting to improve workplace equity and wellbeing.
Community Engagement: Serves on boards for the Foundation for Healthy Generations and Spokane YWCA, promoting health and equity initiatives.
