Robin M. Muller is an Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department at California State University, Northridge, specializing in classical and critical phenomenology and decolonial philosophy.

Research Focus:
Muller investigates how social and political values embed in material culture and spatial experience through Husserl, Merleau-Ponty, Fanon, and Beauvoir frameworks. Their work critically examines philosophy's entanglement with colonialism and chattel slavery, analyzing slave narratives and emancipatory violence via Cugoano, Hartman, and Fanon. Current projects reconstruct Merleau-Ponty's "transcendental geology" concept and explore connections between continental phenomenology and Indigenous American philosophies.
Academic Activities:
Teaches history of European, American, and Africana philosophy (18th century-present) including courses like Introduction to Philosophical Thought (PHIL 150) and Philosophy of Law (PHIL 391). Maintains active research in philosophy of linguistics stemming from their MA in Theoretical Linguistics. Fall 2025 teaching schedule includes three courses across two campuses with no office hours yet posted.
