Robin Johnson

Robin Johnson serves as an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Monmouth College, where he has been a part-time faculty member since 2000. He teaches courses including Introduction to American Politics, Film and Politics, Rural Politics, Campaign Methods Seminar, and Parties and Elections.

Johnson specializes in campaigns and elections, public policy, governmental reform and innovation, local government, and administration and finance. His practical experience in government and politics informs his teaching approach, with a particular emphasis on how government can positively impact people's lives. He values the opportunity to work closely with students at Monmouth College and takes pride when former students credit their Monmouth experience with career success.

Johnson hosts the political podcast Heartland Politics, which features interviews with political leaders and experts on current issues. The podcast episodes demonstrate his engagement with contemporary political topics across various subfields of political science.

Johnson maintains an active career as a political, governmental relations, and public policy consultant. His consulting work includes helping candidates win elections for the U.S. Senate, Congress, state legislature, judiciary, and local government. He has consulted with numerous local governments on consolidation/merger, public-private partnerships, and full-cost accounting of public services.
