Robin Högnäs

Robin Högnäs is an Associate Professor at Stockholm University, affiliated with the Department of Psychology and the Epidemiology Unit at the Stress Research Institute. Her research bridges social demography, public health, and mental health, focusing on how social relationships, socioeconomic disparities, and workplace dynamics influence health and wellbeing across the life course. She has collaborated internationally, including at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and leads projects funded by Forte.

Her research emphasizes longitudinal data analysis from Western countries, with methodological expertise in fixed-effects regression, g-formula, and multistate modeling. Key projects include Sustainable Work in an Aging Population (SWAP), which examines working life expectancy, and Young SLOSH (Y-SLOSH), which extends mental health studies to young labor market participants. Her work has implications for policy on retirement age and mental health interventions.

Teaching experience spans courses in social stratification, statistics, family sociology, and research methods at both American and Swedish universities. She has supervised student projects at BA, MA, and PhD levels.
