Roberto Visani

Roberto Visani is an Associate Professor and Deputy Chair at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, City University of New York. He earned his MFA from the University of Michigan (1997) and BFA from Minnesota State University, Mankato (1994). His artistic practice spans sculpture and contemporary art, with exhibitions at prestigious institutions globally, including the New Museum of Contemporary Art (NY), Studio Museum in Harlem, and Ghana National Museum.

His research explores themes of cultural identity, political expression, and material innovation in sculpture. Publications emphasize African/African American art, urban installations, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
