Roberto Danovaro

Roberto Danovaro is a Full Professor in Marine Biology and Ecology at the Polytechnic University of Marche, Italy. He has held significant leadership roles, including President of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (2018-2022) and prior directorships in the Departments of Marine Sciences and Life & Environmental Sciences at the same university. His affiliations extend to advising capacities in international organizations such as the European Commission, OECD, IUCN, and UNEP.

Danovaro's research focuses on the impact of global change on marine ecosystems, deep-sea environments, and microbial ecology. His work bridges ecological studies with conservation efforts in oceanic systems.
