Roberto Caso

Roberto Caso is a Full Professor of Comparative Private Law at the University of Trento’s Faculty of Law and a member of the Centre Agriculture Food Environment (C3A). He also participates in the Trento LawTech Group. His academic career includes roles as Associate Professor (2006) and Assistant Professor (2001). He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Private Law (University of Trento, 1998) and a Master’s in Law (University of Bari, 1992).

He teaches courses such as Advanced Private Law, Copyright Law, and Open Science. His work addresses challenges in academic copyright, data governance, and the ethical use of technology in research.

Key awards include his AISA presidency and CIPP association. Grants and collaborations involve the EU’s Horizon 2020 and bilateral agreements with McGill University. He supervises over 200 students and publishes extensively on Open Access, IP reform, and legal technology intersections.
