Roberto Busi

Roberto Busi is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia (UWA), affiliated with the School of Agriculture and Environment and the Australian Herbicide Resistance Initiative (AHRI). His primary focus is on herbicide resistance evolution in agricultural weeds, with over a decade of leadership in this field. He holds expertise in evolutionary ecology, weed management, and transgenic crop impact assessment.

Busi has secured significant grants, including $0.7M as a principal investigator and $1.5M as a collaborator, notably from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC). His work addresses critical issues such as delaying herbicide resistance through synergistic chemical combinations and establishing specialized herbicide efficacy testing centers for farmers.
