Roberto Bottini

Roberto Bottini is a Full Professor at the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science, University of Trento. His research spans cognitive neuroscience, focusing on conceptual processing, memory, spatial cognition, and the neural mechanisms of blindness.

His work explores how spatial navigation systems are repurposed for conceptual organization, using fMRI, MEG, and behavioral methods. Key projects include studying grid-cell coding in abstract thought and plasticity in blind individuals.

Recent publications highlight neural entrainment in reading, altered spatial coding in blindness, and eye movement patterns in conceptual search. His research has been funded by prestigious grants including ERC Starting and Consolidator awards.
