Robert Yuan

Robert Yuan is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lamar University. He also serves as Director of the Composite Research Center, focusing on advanced materials for structural and environmental applications.

• Ph.D. in Theoretical & Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
• M.S. and B.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois and National Cheng-Kung University respectively

His research spans composite materials, concrete technology, and environmental engineering, with notable work on carbon nanotube composites for defense applications and photocatalytic concrete solutions for pollution control.

His publications demonstrate expertise in impact resistance analysis, FRP reinforcement, and sustainable material development, with a focus on practical applications in civil infrastructure.
