Robert Wilson Sweeny

Robert Wilson Sweeny is Professor of Art Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he has been faculty since 2004. He is affiliated with the College of Arts, Humanities, Media, and Public Affairs and the Department of Art and Design, with his office located in Sprowls Hall.

Dr. Sweeny's research centers on digital technology in art education, digital visual culture, digital games, and mobile digital media. His work examines how technological developments transform artistic practices and pedagogical approaches, with particular attention to the intersections between technology, culture, and learning environments. He approaches digital media through critical theoretical frameworks while maintaining practical applications for educational settings.

His significant publications include the forthcoming Dysfunction and Decentralization in New Media Art Education (Intellect Press) and the edited volume Inter/Actions/Inter/Sections: Art Education in a Digital Visual Culture (2011, NAEA Press).
