Robert Wallisch

Robert Wallisch is a Privatdozent (habilitated lecturer) at the University of Vienna, jointly affiliated with the Department of Classical Philology, Medieval and Neo-Latin Studies and the Department of Roman Law and Antique Legal History. He maintains an active teaching profile with introductory and advanced Latin courses scheduled through 2025 and disseminates academic content via his YouTube channel.

His teaching centres on Latin morphology and syntax, medieval Latin, and the Latin-vernacular interface in Dante’s works. Research interests span historical Latin linguistics, Neo-Latin philology, Roman legal terminology, and the sociolinguistics of Latin-Romance diglossia.
