Robert W. Nithman

Robert W. Nithman serves as Program Dean/Director and Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at West Coast University. He holds a PhD from Nova Southeastern University (2018), a t-DPT from Chatham University (2005), an MPT from Duquesne University (1997), and a BS from Duquesne University (1996). He is board-certified as a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) and formerly certified as an OASIS Specialist.

His research focuses on geriatric rehabilitation, telehealth implementation, fall prevention, and value-based healthcare systems. Key investigations include validation of remote fall risk screening, telehealth adoption barriers, and osteoporosis management frameworks. His publications demonstrate consistent focus on technology-enhanced rehabilitation and evidence-based geriatric care.

Dr. Nithman maintains extensive professional engagement as Chair of the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties Geriatrics Specialty Council and former member of the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy's National Physical Therapist Exam Development Committee. He has consulted for the CDC, CMS, and Harvard Medical School.
