Associate Professor Robert Stirling is a Senior Respiratory Specialist at Alfred Health and an honorary academic at Monash University, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. He is the Lead Clinician at the Alfred Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Meeting and treats patients at Epworth Health. His clinical and academic work focuses on allergy, immunology, and respiratory diseases, particularly lung cancer and chronic lung conditions.
His research interests include improving the quality of care in lung cancer, multidisciplinary cancer care models, chronic respiratory infections, and health outcomes measurement. He is the co-coordinating principal investigator and chair of the steering committee for the Victorian Lung Cancer Registry (VLCR), and has led national initiatives including expert consensus guidelines for lung cancer outcomes with the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement.
