Robert Stein serves as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Alfred University and is an Associate Professor of Political Science with over two decades of academic experience. He has held positions at St. John Fisher College (2001-2004) and SUNY Brockport (1996-2000), including roles as an adjunct professor.
Education:
- BA in Political Science from Stanford University (1984)
- MA in Political Science from the University of Michigan (1993)
- PhD in Political Science from the University of Michigan (1999)
Stein's research focuses on intersections of race, liberalism, and deliberative democracy, with particular attention to identity politics, critical race theory, and pedagogical innovations. His work often explores how cultural artifacts (e.g., literature, music) and psychological dimensions influence political discourse.
