معرفی
Prof. Robert Schlögl is a Founding Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion and holds honorary professorships at Ruhr-Universität Bochum and Universität Duisburg-Essen. His career includes leadership roles at the Fritz-Haber-Institut and academic appointments at TU Berlin, Humboldt-Universität, and the University of Cambridge.
Education:
- PhD (1982), Habilitation (1989) in Inorganic Chemistry from Ludwig Maximilians Universität, Munich
- Postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge and Basel (1982–1985)
Research Focus: Schlögl specializes in catalysis, heterogeneous reactions, and energy conversion. His work bridges fundamental catalytic mechanisms with applied materials science, emphasizing real-time characterization of catalyst surfaces (e.g., via TEM and X-ray spectroscopy).
Awards & Leadership:
- Recipient of the Alwin Mittasch Award (2015) and Dechema Medal (2010)
- Chair of MPG’s Steering Committee for Energy Systems and member of the German Catalysis Society
Advisory & Editorial Roles: Editor of ChemCatChem and Catalysis Letters; chairs multiple academic committees on energy research and scientific policy.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Department of Heterogeneous Reactions at MPI CEC, collaborating on projects like the Collaborative Research Centre TRR247 involving advanced catalytic materials characterization.
