Robert Rouphail is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of Iowa, specializing in modern African history, Indian Ocean studies, and environmental history. His research explores intersections of environment, empire, and decolonization in the Afro-Asian World, with particular focus on Mauritius.
