Robert Roth

Robert Roth is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Michigan State University's College of Natural Science. His research focuses on inflammation as a determinant of susceptibility to chemical toxicity, particularly in food safety contexts. Located in the Food Safety Building (1129 Farm Lane, East Lansing, MI 48823), he investigates how mild inflammation enhances the hepatotoxic effects of environmental chemicals and foodborne toxins.

Research Interests: Dr. Roth's laboratory explores mechanisms by which modest inflammation increases vulnerability to toxic agents. Key studies include examining how low-dose endotoxin exposure amplifies aflatoxin B1 toxicity and other environmental chemicals.
