Robert Rege is a distinguished academic surgeon and Professor at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he serves as Chairman of the Department of Surgery. He holds the Hall and Mary Lucille Shannon Distinguished Professorship. With a career spanning over four decades, Dr. Rege has held prominent roles, including Chief of Surgical Services at the VA Chicago Medical Center and Tenured Professor of Surgery at Northwestern University. His expertise lies in gastrointestinal surgery, laparoscopic techniques, and gallstone pathogenesis.
