Robert Reber is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at Taylor University, affiliated with the Biology, Environmental Science & Sustainable Development Department. He has dedicated 27 years to teaching and research, focusing on ecological restorations, soil science, and geospatial analysis.
- Education: MS in Forestry and Natural Resources (Purdue University), BS in Forestry (University of Illinois)
Reber’s research spans wetland ecology, prairie restoration, and microbial survival in soil/water systems. He pioneered the soil science component of the Indiana Wetland Rapid Assessment Protocol (InWRAP) and has mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students in field research.
His publications reflect expertise in floristic quality assessment, invasive species management, and nutrient cycling. Reber also teaches summer field courses at the Wheaton College Station in the Black Hills, emphasizing hands-on ecological education.
Reber contributes to Taylor University’s Randall Environmental Science Center and integrates spiritual growth into student mentorship. His personal interests include gardening, horse husbandry, and Native American artifact exploration.
