Research Interests: Focus on vascular flora of Italy, particularly the Gargano, with emphasis on taxonomic revisions, typification of plant names, and vegetation analysis. He has collaborated since 2006 with Dr. Wolfgang Licht (Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz) on Gargano flora studies. His work includes conservation assessments for Orchidaceae, red listing, and habitat monitoring under the EU Habitats Directive.
Publications & Research Trends: Recent articles (2023-2024) address Italian vascular flora checklists, endangered orchid cytogenetics, alien species, and inclusive STEM education. His typification work includes 13 plant taxa, and he has described 3 new plant species and 8 new syntaxa in phytosociology.
Collaborations & Projects: Key roles in the FRACTAL project (Interreg Alpine Space) for sustainable education initiatives, and contributions to Italy’s Red List of threatened plants. He has co-authored regional conservation guides and phytosociological analyses of Mediterranean vegetation.
