معرفی
Robert-Paul Juster is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Medicine and a Regular Researcher at the Montreal University Institute of Mental Health Research Center (CR-IUSMM). He directs the Center for Studies on Sex*Gender, Allostasis, and Resilience (CESAR) and co-directs the Signature Biobank project.
His research focuses on chronic stress physiology with particular emphasis on:
- Allostatic load measurement as an indicator of long-term stress consequences
- Intersectional analysis of sex, gender, sexual orientation, and gender identity
- Biopsychosocial determinants of stress vulnerability in LGBTQ+ populations
- Minority stress impacts on physiological and cognitive functioning
Analysis of his 15 most recent publications reveals dominant research themes in stress biomarker development, LGBTQ+ health disparities, and sex/gender-based analysis methodologies. His work consistently integrates physiological measurements (cortisol, allostatic load indices) with psychosocial frameworks examining structural stigma, discrimination, and resilience mechanisms across diverse populations.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship (CIHR, 2017)
- Junior Research Fellow 1 (FRQS, 2019)
- Research Chair in Sex and Gender Sciences (University of Montreal, 2020)
- Emergence en Recherche award (Quebec Psychological Research Society, 2022)
Dr. Juster has secured substantial funding from CIHR, FRQS, and SSHRC for projects examining transgender health, minority stress during political crises, and workplace stress in psychiatric settings. His mentorship includes supervising multiple Master's and PhD students focusing on sex/gender differences in cognition and mental health. His CESAR laboratory employs interdisciplinary approaches combining neuroscience, endocrinology, and social sciences to address health inequities.
