Robert Macy, J.D., Ph.D., serves as Professor and Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Wyoming's College of Business, where he also manages the university's Venture Capital Fund. With over 30 years of cross-disciplinary experience spanning entrepreneurship, venture capital, law, and film production, he brings practical industry insights to academic leadership.
Prior to joining UW in 2024, Macy held the Bill and Sharon Sheriff Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship at New Mexico State University and founded Penn State's Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship major while co-launching the Lion LaunchPad incubator. His research centers on entrepreneurial negotiation, immersive entertainment systems, and technology commercialization pathways.
Macy actively consults for game studios and industry partners, directly integrating these real-world projects into classroom experiential learning. As Venture Capital Fund manager, he evaluates and supports emerging startups while directing the Center's innovation ecosystem programs across the university.
