Robert Lackey is a Professor at Oregon State University's Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences, specializing in Pacific Northwest ecological futures, salmon policy, ecosystem management paradigms, and science-policy interfaces. His Pacific Northwest 2100 Project addresses population growth, climate change, and ecosystem service demands, while the Salmon 2100 Project evaluates long-term wild salmon restoration options.
Lackey has advised over 24 graduate students including John Boaze, Thomas Schulte, and Vaughn Douglass. His awards include Fulbright Scholar (1999-00), Best Student Paper awards from AFS and Waterbird Society, and the Gold Medal for Exceptional Service from EPA. He has published extensively on ecological policy, risk assessment, and salmon management.
Lackey teaches Ecological Policy and has served on numerous scientific advisory boards including the Forestry Research Advisory Council for USDA and Interagency Salmon Science Team for the National Science and Technology Council.
